Sony Zeiss 16-80 unboxing, SAL1680z

It is finally here, my new Wide angle zeiss lens, the vario sonnar 16-80mm F3.5-4.5 . Heres a quick unboxing pics and some size comparisons between the standard lens kit ( SAL1855) and the zeiss vario sonnar.

The package come with the user manual inspection sheet, lens, lens hood, and a nice lens case, however, sony should of included a protection filter for the Zeiss and G series lens, that would have been nice.

compared to the standard kit lens, the difference is clear. physical build quality is much better, the weight and feel is more robust and sturdy than the standard kit lens. Both zoom ring feel very smooth, so you can really be precise on how much you want to focus etc. The autofocus is almost lightning fast, due to the fact that my camera, the a55 also has the high speed plus the lens motor it self makes it very good for all sorts of shooting.  The front focus section that extends does not rotate, which is ideal for ND filters thats mounted on the front. This zeiss lens has T coating on it, which makes the glass able to allow almost all the light to pass through, so theres is minimal image quality loss.  As for image quality over the standard lenses, the zeiss name speaks for it self, i will provide you guys with a detailed comparison and some pictures later on in a more in depth review

What this lens is good for; landscape photography ( it is best due to its ultra wide angle capabilities ), shooting people is also ideal, cuz of the good focal range, and the F number range is very good. so you guys may ask, is this really worth like the extra 700, 800 dollar or something? the answer is yes. superior glass is superior..

hope you guys liked my unbiased review, More amazing things to be done with this lens later.
